Rail

The nearest rail link is at the village of Strathcarron, 3½ miles from Lochcarron. This is on the scenic Inverness–Kyle of Lochalsh line.

Ferry

The ferry terminal for Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis is at Ullapool, about 60 miles away. There's an alternative crossing to Tarbert on Harris, leaving Uig on the Isle of Skye.

Bus

There is a twice-weekly bus service to Inverness. Services run on Wednesday and Saturday, departing from the village hall on Main Street at 09:40 and from Inverness bus station at 15:00.

Car hire is available from Lochcarron Garage on Main Street. (Note that this is closed on Sundays.)

Car and van hire is also available from several companies in Inverness, including from the airport at Dalcross.
